T-Molding
Transition molding, or T-molding, is a T-shaped strip of wood or wood product that covers the narrow gap in the doorway between two adjacent floors. Some types of floors, Particularly hardwood flooring require a 1 1/4-inch expansion gap between the two floors. This gap allows for normal contraction and expansion of the flooring from foot traffic and seasonal changes in temperature and humidity. Use T-molding to visually connect two adjoining floors of the same height.
