Strandwoven Bamboo
Strand woven bamboo floors are boiled in a solution of boric acid and water to remove the sugar content as an anti-termite preventative. Once the bamboo strips have been properly dried, they are woven together with a Finnish plasticizer called Dynea. The next step in the process to create strand woven bamboo is crushing this woven material in a 2,000 ton heat press operating at a 265F temperature.
